The fallout from the passing of the Emergency Services and Volunteer Fund legislation last week continues. Council's will have to collect the levies and already ratepayers are saying they'll refuse to pay. To the pre-State budget snippets the Victorian Government announced another year's funding for the National Centre for Farmer Health. And the Allan Government has announced what it says is a "BILLION-DOLLAR BETTER ROADS BLITZ TO FIX OUR REGIONAL ROADS" but according to the State Opposition, its actually a cut to funding. The lack of an autumn break is forcing grain growers to make some tough decisions including whether to spend big bucks on pre emergent herbicides.
