About the episode

On February 17, 2000 tragedy struck Gary, Indiana. While the city of Gary is known to be a violent place, the events of this night were particularly awful. Five people were murdered across two different crime scenes, within hours of each other. The Detectives on the case quickly determined that the murders were all connected, and arrested a man named Chris Bynum for the crimes within hours, before any meaningful investigation or any forensic testing could be completed. Chris has now been in prison for these murders for 25 years, even though all evidence revealed since his trial indicates that he is most certainly innocent. In this season premiere episode, we'll be taking a broad look at the events of that fateful night, and begin our journey to bring real justice to Sheila Renee Bartee, Elizabeth Ayers, Anthony "Amp" Jeffers, Angela Renee Wallace and Suzanne Wallace.
