For years, some law enforcement agencies have replaced the faces of traditional playing card decks with images of missing and murdered people and distributed those cards in prisons hoping inmates would come forward with information needed to crack these cold cases wide open. Now, audiochuck is dealing you in. Each week, we will be working with investigators and family members to bring you the details of some of the coldest cases from around the country in hopes that someone listening can finally bring these victims the justice they deserve.

Kyle Seidel (5 of Diamonds, Connecticut)

Our card this week is Kyle Seidel, the 5 of Diamonds from Connecticut. Kyle Seidel was a 34-year-old dad to three young kids when he went to pick up Chinese takeout the Friday night before Christmas in 2012. His wife expected him to be gone for only about 20 minutes… but Kyle never came home again. A violent encounter on his way to the restaurant cut his life short. For 12 years, Kyle’s family has been left to wonder why Kyle pulled into a bowling alley parking lot on the way to the restaurant, who he encountered there, and why they shot him. Investigators think they know who pulled the trigger, but they don’t know the why… they’re hoping that just one new piece of evidence could help them find answers and bring his killer, or killers, to justice. If you or anyone you know has information about Kyle Seidel’s murder, please call the Waterford Police Department tip line at 860-437-8080 or call Waterford detectives directly at 860-442-0645 or 860-442-9451.View source material and photos for this episode at: thedeckpodcast.com/kyle-seidel Let us deal you in… follow The Deck on social media.Instagram: @thedeckpodcast | @audiochuckTwitter: @thedeckpodcast_ | @audiochuckFacebook: /TheDeckPodcast | /audiochuckllcTo support Season of Justice and learn more, please visit seasonofjustice.org. The Deck is hosted by Ashley Flowers. Instagram: @ashleyflowersTikTok: @ashleyflowerscrimejunkieTwitter: @Ash_FlowersFacebook: /AshleyFlowers.AF Text Ashley at 317-733-7485 to talk all things true crime, get behind the scenes updates, and more!

Susan Poupart (7 of Spades, Wisconsin)

Our card this week is Susan "Susie" Poupart, the 7 of Spades from Wisconsin. When 29-year-old Susie went to a house party on her reservation, surrounded by friends and so close to home, she should’ve been safe. But when the mother of two left the party in a car with some younger men, things took a turn for the worse. Susie never made it home, and six months later, her remains were found in a nearby forest. The men Susie was last seen with became immediate suspects, but to this day, there just isn’t enough evidence to charge them with her murder… Or is there? If you know anything about the 1990 murder of Susan Poupart in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin, please speak up. You can call the Vilas County Sheriff’s Department at 715-479-4441 or the Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police Department at 715-588-7717. Or, if you’d prefer to remain anonymous, you can call the Vilas County Sheriff’s anonymous tip line at 1-800-472-7290.We found Susie's case back in 2021 while we set out to cover the case of Rhys Pocan, a 35-year-old Indigenous woman who was murdered in Wisconsin in the ‘80s. But while we were in the field, we uncovered a disturbing pattern of murders with similarities to Rhys’ that were just too blatant to ignore, including Susie's. So, we spent the next three years working with local and federal law enforcement to try and get to the bottom of it.Click here to listen to our Crime Junkie episodes WANTED: Justice for Rhys Pocan & MMIW Part 1, and here for Part 2!View source material and photos for this episode at: thedeckpodcast.com/susan-poupart Let us deal you in… follow The Deck on social media.Instagram: @thedeckpodcast | @audiochuckTwitter: @thedeckpodcast_ | @audiochuckFacebook: /TheDeckPodcast | /audiochuckllcTo support Season of Justice and learn more, please visit seasonofjustice.org.
