About the episode

The Sacred Hill is a story about four kangaroos — Blue, the plains kangaroo; Potsy, the potoroo; Treez the tree kangaroo; and Rocko the rock wallaby — who are happy living on the sacred hill until some rowdy myna birds disturb the peace. The roos are forced to leave their land, but thoughts of the hill are never far away. Soon they unite, embarking on an adventure that will lead them back home to the sacred hill. Written and read by First Nations artist Gordon Hookey, of the Waanyi people, who also plays the didgeridoo you hear in the recording. This story is proudly brought to you by the Children’s Art Centre at Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art.
