Wong is a political scientist and a Professor of American and Asian American studies at the University of Maryland. She’s also a Senior Researcher at AAPI Data, where she collects demographic data and policy research on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.  

After the March 16th killing of six Asian American women in Atlanta, Nguyen and Wong penned a joint op-ed for the Washington Post that outlined how bipartisan rhetoric about geopolitical events has historically led to spikes in violence against Asians and Asian Americans.

Thinking 2.0 (with Adam Grant)

On March 11th, 2021, CAFE hosted eminent history professors Heather Cox Richardson and Joanne Freeman for a wide-ranging discussion about presidential history and what makes a “game-changing” administration.

A former federal prosecutor, Wainstein spent 19 years in the Justice Department and also served as General Counsel, and then Chief of Staff to then-Director Robert Mueller.

Described as “America’s Nelson Mandela,” his Equal Justice Initiative, a non-profit law firm based in Alabama, is dedicated to challenging racial injustice and ending mass incarceration.
