About the episode

Fellow Townsvillian, Natalie Cook, captured all of Australia with her beach volleyball partner, Kerri Pottharst winning gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. It was and still is an absolutely iconic moment in Australian Sporting history, right up there with Cathy Freeman’s win in the 400m and the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay at the same Games. But that’s not where Nat’s story ends. She went on to compete at another UNBELIEVABLE three Olympic Games! Becoming the first Australian woman to compete at an astonishing five Olympics. Nat was so vulnerable and candid in this chat and I was so grateful to be in this conversation with her. She continues to inspire and advocate for athletes and I just know that she will continue to have a huge impact on sport in Australia!
