Incredible Ironman athlete, Caroline Steffen, is remarkable in more ways than one. The Swiss-Aussie started as a national swimmer, dabbled in some Ironman events and then turned to pro cycling. After realising that she was, in fact, an individual athlete, she decided to put it all on the line, move half way around the world to see if she could make it as a pro triathlete. Caroline, is so open about her experiences so far in the early stages of this transition (she doesn’t like using the ‘R’ word) and I connected with so much of her story! I loved chatting to my very first international athlete! Oh yeah, and then there’s a little story about how she competed just SIX MONTHS after the birth of her first baby. Like I said.. remarkable! I’ve known Caroline for a very long time after meeting her in 2011 and have followed her career ever since. So trust me when I say you will absolutely fall in love with Caroline “Xena” Steffen!
