It's hard not to love everything about Gippsland. From the gorgeous beaches to the snowcapped ranges. The region is littered with beautiful townships that celebrate their own unique history. These towns are also passionate and parochial about their sport. So, when the Basketball Victoria came to Gippsland with the idea of having one team represent the region, there were some mixed views from various local associations about the concept. It would be decided that Gippsland United would be the club that would represent the region in the BIG V competition in 2022 and beyond, with expectation of finals the pass mark for both the men and women's team. The men would win the 2022 BIG V title in Division 2 whilst the Women would make finals. As the dust settled on the hectic and successful first year, movement has been made in the women's program in various roles including the coaching panel.
