Austin Mitchell was a kind and passionate young man living with his family in Union City, GA. The 20-year-old was a recent honors graduate with big dreams for the future. But in one tragic moment in March of 2019, all of that would be taken away. Austin had been hanging out with some friends in a nearby townhome when something unexpected occurred resulting in Austin’s death. His friends reported that he’d died by suicide, but his parents think otherwise. They believe the information they have learned over time asserts the theory that their son was a victim of foul play.

Payne has spent the last year in Nome, Alaska, investigating the case of Native Alaskan Florence Okpealuk, who went missing in 2020. This case is unlike any other he has covered and has taken him all the way to the Arctic Circle and back. After combing through tips and new leads, Payne is now back with new episodes to take us deep into what he has uncovered in Florence’s case. And that is not the only case he has uncovered in the small town of Nome.
